"All our business comes from referrals" usually means: we don't see the referrals we lose.

A recommendation rarely arrives as a signed deal. It arrives as your name, said once — followed by a quiet search. Then the referred customer does what everyone does: opens your website and checks whether it matches the praise.

When it doesn't, the referral dissolves, and nobody tells you.

Referrals aren't an alternative to a good website. They're exactly the traffic that deserves one most.
